FAQ...
- What does it cost to hire the Magnolia String Quartet?
It depends on the time involved. Because of the variables such as location, length of service etc its is difficult to lay out the myriad permutations possible so just contact us, describe the ceremony, fill us in on some of the other details and we will be able to give you firm quote. The size of the group can be flexible to suit your needs from a duo to as many as you would like for your function, though the Quartet is an optimal size musically. We have a number of other musicians who are fine vocalists or instrumentalists that we can recommend such as trumpet players, vocalists both male and female and have keyboard players when organ or piano is also desired. - Does a member of the Quartet attend the wedding rehearsal?
Usually not. We have been doing weddings for many years in a wide variety of settings that it is not usually necessary for one of the members to attend the rehearsal. - Do we need amplification?
Only in rare instances has it been necessary to provide any kind of amplification for the Quartet. The sound of the instruments carries quite well across the gardens of plantations, down the naves of churches, up the grand staircase at the Old State Capitol and through the rooms of private homes. - What kind of music does the Quartet play?
Our repertoire is a diverse collection of Classical, Broadway and some other popular tunes. Classical is the main body of our repertoire but we have performed contemporary Christian music, Country music songs and other requests. An additional fee to obtain/arrange music may be necessary for music not currently in our repertoire. See the repertoire list here on our site.
